The Alishan area is well-known both for its scenery and tea making, and the high mountain tea grown there represents Taiwan around the world. Experience tea picking and tea making in the plantations. Smell the aroma, sip a cup of soothing tea, listen to birds chirping in the woods, and take in the traditional culture slowly, quietly.

Pick up from your hotel or Train station.
Step 1
Xinfang Tea Plantation
Xinfang Tea Plantation. We take you behind the scenes to learn about the process of making world-famous Alishan tea. From plantation and harvesting to roasting, you will learn everything about this fascinating artisanal process. You will be a tea expert by the end of the tour!
Step 2
Alishan National Forest Recreation Area
Visit the stunning Alishan National Forest Recreation Area. This beautiful haven is in Alishan Township, Chiayi, and it covers 1400 hectares. Walk around and admire the incredible views, climbing to the top of the 2,200m summit.
Step 3
Chaoping Station
Train ride to Zhaoping Station. This historic station was opened on the 14th of March 1914 and was an important hub for the logging industry. In fact, it was once the largest log-collection center under Japanese rule. The station was re-inaugurated on the 21st of April 2013 after being stylishly refurbished by the Chiayi Forest District Office.
Step 4
Alishan National Forest Recreation Area
Visit Zhaoping Park (also called the Nature Park) and an old log skidder. The scenery on this trail is incredible, with the path leading to Zhushan Railway Station. The park is covered in various quaint alpine plants and is well known for its beautiful spring bloom and an impressive, colorful autumn where the leaves of the deciduous trees, such as the Snakebark maple paint the scene orange, yellow, and crimson.

Alishan National Forest Recreation Area
Shuttle ride to Zhushan Viewing Point.

Alishan National Forest Recreation Area
The Alpine Botanical Garden.
Step 7
Alishan National Forest Recreation Area
Take in the incredible vistas from Mt. Ogasawara Lot. This viewing platform is 2,488 meters above sea level and it provides stunning views in all directions. Take in the immense landscape of Jade Mountain and the Central Mountain Range. Just make sure you bring your camera!
Step 8
Alishan National Forest Recreation Area
Travel to Alishan Railway Station. This station can be found in Alishan township and it is particularly impressive.
