The Taiwanese Aboriginal Bunun Tribe lived in the high mountain ranges of Central Taiwan and were hunters and fierce warriors. During the Japanese colonial period, the Bunun Tribe moved down from the high mountains to the lowland villages, and one of these villages is the present Luona village. The best way to understand how these aboriginal people in Taiwan live and their culture is to visit the village itself! Come join us on this exciting half-day tour of Luona Village, one of the Bunun Tribe settlement!

Luona Village
We arrive at the village of Luona, where many aboriginal Bunun tribe people settle today. Our Bunun tribe tour leader will show us around the village and how the Bunun people live today. Discover the hidden secrets within the mountainous area, learn about the culture of the Bunun tribe!Step 2
Visit private coffee farm
After a stroll around the village, we will visit a small private coffee farm owned by one of the Bunun tribe family. Our tour leader will tell you more about the lives of Taiwanese Aboriginals in the past and present while you take a sip of freshly brewed local grown coffee.Step 3
Hands on experience with Bunun Arts & Music
Experience the arts, culture and history of the Bunun tribe! Chu-Yin is an instrument in the form of a wooden pole. Originally, the people used the wooden poles to crush millets. The results were both crushed millets and beautiful percussion sounds. Since then, Chu-Yin had been a part of the music culture of the Bunun Tribe. Gaming was also a part of Bunun Tribe's culture and still is. We will learn how the Tribe leaders hunted wild animals in the high mountain ranges of Taiwan.Step 4
Taste the Bunun traditional food
Finally, after a half-day Aboriginal experience, sit down and enjoy the most flavourful meal you will ever taste! From wild fish to chicken, to locally grown vegetables, all cooked in Bunan tribal style. Enjoy the meal in the evening at a local Bunan Tribe family campground.
